In @balajis https://t.co/pzgRd4E5b4 there is a line about “history as written to the ledger vs history written by the victors”, that made me curious: Wikipedia edit wars are a thing, but the edit history assuages me. Are there cases where histories have been wiped by victors?

@DylanLeClair_ The Network State by @balajis. Essential reading on macro. Combines historical insight with actionable strategies. Poses a critical challenge for #bitcoin: how do we build a post-nation-state high-trust society with a trustless protocol at its core?

This is why I think @balajis' 'Network State' model has legs: it's already the case among forward-looking elites with the agency to engineer their working lives. And everything in American life starts at the top before percolating down to everyone to some extent.

@joshelman @saranormous @ycombinator Also the alums go on to do really amazing things that feed the whole sector. I think people underestimate the value of community especially over the course of decades. I legit believe YC is a prototype model for what @balajis talks about when he says the Network State.

@balajis notes in his book that, men of God offer "thoughts and prayers". This has been mocked and substituted increasingly by men of "Gov" with "go out and vote". But, as State capacity declines, we're seeing young people mock "go out and vote" chant too - and rightfully so.

As Network State because a real virtual layer that *really* matters, the operating system *really* matters. You get: predictable OS behavior, total interoperability (that is, all of your digital life poured into a single language framework that means no weird translation cruft).

The Network State by @balajis makes me even more excited about @TheopetraLabs because we're working on one key upcoming pain point: The transition from all digital to physical assets. How do we do that?

is Balaji's Network State the next "little red book" for the connected youth? It has the capacity to become one: good rationale, a great explanation of History, a thought leader, and most important of all, an agenda.
